…and you are mine!
This site is a bit of a scary new adventure for me. I have been writing for nearly thirty years, but I am ready to convert my hobby into something a little bit more. To be frank, I want to make it my career.
When I was younger and had a head full of dreams, I got a lot of raised eyebrows when I said I wanted to be a historical novelist. I suppose it’s somewhat akin to a child who aspires to be a professional athlete. Only a very select few are ever paid to play, and the same is probably true for those who want to be professional writers.
But what I’ve discovered just recently is that, although I am not published, I am a writer. It’s a vital part of me, and it’s not going to change. If you’re a writer, too, remember that. A third party deciding to take your work to publish and distribute thousands of copies does not make you a writer. It’s already inside of you. It helps me to remember that. It gives me a confidence that I hope will sustain me through the roughest patches of road ahead.
So here is a place where I can practice, a place where I can share some of what I’ve learned over the years and all the new things I haven’t learned yet, a place where I can hold myself accountable to keep on going. And it’s a place where you can come alongside me, if you’d like. Sitting down to write can feel lonely, but every part of the journey doesn’t have to be.
Thank you for visiting, and I’d be tickled (okay, honored…okay, both) if you’d click on the right to follow my blog!

I’m so proud of you for never giving up on your dream and passion for writing. God gave you the gift of writing, it is not something just anyone can do. You have a beautiful way with words and I have enjoyed being able to watch you using that gift. Love you always.
